Non-motorized tourists have been waiting for this moment for almost three years. You can now reach Wisła Głębce by train again. And the journey from Katowice has been shortened by half an hour!
The train connections to Wisła were restored just before the ski season. Not only was the infrastructure modernized but also the Wisła Uzdrowisko railway station.
As reported by katowice24.info: "The investment on the railway line to Wisła started in mid-May 2020. Its most important goals include the replacement of outdated infrastructure, which will result in a reduction in travel time from Katowice to Wisła Głębce by about half an hour. So far, trains have been moving very slowly on some sections, at speeds of even 20-30 km/h. A total of 52 km of tracks will be replaced, and 15 railway stations and stops will be renovated."
The Wisła Uzdrowisko station was first opened on July 10, 1929. The building constructed at that time was the largest along the entire length of the new railway line. In 1979, the line was electrified.
The opening of the new investment is an important event not only for non-motorized tourists but also for the entire city. The new schedule will include more fast connections: 10 pairs of connections on public holidays and 8 on the Katowice-Wisła Głębce line on weekdays.
The modernization of the railway line is a very important aspect, just like the modernization of section No. 941 leading to Wisła, improving access to the city.
Train to Wisła from Katowice Without Changing Trains
Residents of Silesia will probably feel the benefits of the modernized line the fastest. Is there anything more pleasant than a weekend trip to the mountains for skiing or Christmas and New Year shopping?
The train to Wisła Uzdrowisko from the main station in Katowice takes about 1 hour and 28 minutes (PKP Intercity) to about 1 hour and 38 minutes (Koleje Śląskie). An example of the ticket price in the second class, without discounts, on Sunday, December 18, at 13:46, is 21.85 PLN. The price for Intercity tickets during the same period is 29 PLN.

How to Get to Wisła from Warsaw
Residents of Warsaw can also travel to Wisła comfortably. Even with one transfer, the time needed to cover nearly 400 km can be about 5 hours!
The train to Wisła Uzdrowisko from Warsaw Central Station (December 18, 2022) at 16:41 on EIP (express intercity premium) lines, with a transfer in Katowice, arrives at 21:41. This amounts to a total of 190.85 PLN (second class, without discounts). However, cheaper connections can also be found. The journey from Warsaw Gdańska at 14:13 takes 5 hours and 23 minutes and is 100 PLN cheaper for a one-way ticket. Choose an Intercity train to Katowice for 69 PLN, then transfer to Koleje Śląskie in Katowice. The total cost of the one-way journey for one person without discounts is 90.85 PLN!
Wisła Uzdrowisko PKP - Time for Sightseeing in the City
It's a good idea to plan your arrival in Wisła to have some time to explore the city. You can leave your luggage at the station's storage facility. To stretch your legs, take a walk along the Bulwar Księżycowy, which runs right along the river. Along the way, you can see the Adventure Park, the Stanisław Hadyna Amphitheater in Wisła, and the Wisła Pools. You can also spend more time in the beautiful Kopczyński Park.
From the park, you can head towards the Evangelical-Augsburg Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Wisła, and then to the small Museum of Beskids named after A. Podżorski. If you have more time, it's also worth trying the attraction of the Wisła train. During a 2.5-hour train ride, you can see, among other things, the ski jump in Malinka, Czerniańskie Lake, the Presidential Castle, and a waterfall.
How to Get from the City Center to Hotel Vestina?
When you arrive at Wisła Uzdrowisko station, you don't have to worry about getting to our hotel. There's a taxi stand right at the station. The distance from the station to the hotel is just over 7 km, and it takes about 15 minutes to get there. While traveling to Vestina, you'll undoubtedly notice the Adam Małysz Ski Jump in Wisła Malinka.
Unfortunately, there is no public transport to Wisła Malinka, so the only option is a taxi.

Wisła Malinka is a charming valley surrounded by mountain ranges. So, when making a reservation, it's a good idea to choose a room with a mountain view. You don't have to wait for a ski bus; just put on your skis and walk to "Cieńków" and "Klepek" – it's only 500 meters away. Both resorts have equipment rental shops. Malinka also offers interesting hiking trails. It's worth taking a walk on the Cieńkowska Loop and, in the meantime, visiting the ski jump. You can also go on a longer trek to Lake Czerniańskie.
